Our People

Margaret Reilly

This is Margaret Reilly, one of our most senior members, but also one of our most faithful. If its physically possible to get to church (and sometimes if its not), she'll be there. Now, don't tell anybody, but Margaret is .... wait for it, just over 21! (by about 71 years, I think, although you wouldn't think it, would you?)

Vi McKinley

This week's special guest, so to speak, is Vi McKinley, who has been a mainstay of our choir in past years, and could probably still sing rings around most of us. If you ever want to know a tune from Hymns and Psalms, I can think of no better person to ask. (Better still, ask Vi to sing it)

Betty Bartlett and Marion Nelson

Sisters, sisters - or at least so the old song goes, and we have our very own 'sisters' in the picture above. Unfortunately, however, Betty Bartlett and Marion Nelson, two stalwarts of our congregation, are moving on from Carrickfergus, probably to Ballymena (or wherever is close to Broughshane). All we can say is that it's our loss, and Ballymena's gain, but we wish them well in their new venture there, and we thank them for the tremendous amount of work that they did whilst in Carrickfergus. Hopefully it won't be long until we see them again.

Nicki Ferguson - or is it Nicky? or maybe Nicola? I'll leave it up to you

Just to show that it's not only the more mature members of our congregation that get to feature on our website, this is Nicola Ferguson (Nicki to her friends), who, as well as being known as Aian's daughter, was a member of one of the roving Teams on Mission a few years ago i.e. 2008/09 (which for the uneducated in Methodist organisation, gives an opportunity to young Christian people to give up a year of their time in service to the church, and hopefully learn new skills at the same time) There is no truth whatsover in the rumour that it's just an opportunity to enjoy a rather relaxed lifestyle for a year whilst putting off the inevitable move from school to uni. (Who put that rumour about anyway?)
