ANCHOR BOYS AND PUPPY CLUB

At present we currently have approximately 20 Anchor Boys attending regularly, enjoying a weekly programme of games, crafts, singing and stories.
Our Puppy Club, which caters for Boys below the official Anchor Boy starting age, also meets at the same time, and shares a similar programme. We have up to 10 Boys who fall into this category.
We are pleased to be able to accommodate Boys with a wide variety of abilities and interests, with the emphasis very much aimed at lively fun!
JUNIOR SECTION

Each week 20+ Boys join in our Junior Section, for a more formal programme of games, achievements (badge work), bell ringing, figure marching, Bible stories, and worship.
Again, we are pleased to be able to provide a broad programme of activities, with something for everyone.
At 1st Carrickfergus our Junior Section takes an active role in wider East Antrim Battalion events and competitions.
COMPANY SECTION
Our Company Section currently has 10 members, who are very faithful supporters of everything we do - many of our Boys have not missed a single night this session so far!
After fall-in and inspection each week, we start our evening with Bible Class, which is central to all that we do, before moving into a programme of badge work (Discover Programme) and games.
We are constantly working to improve our programme and Camp made a very welcome return in February 2008 and also in April 2009, when we visited Ganaway.
A MESSAGE FROM THE CAPTAIN
This morning, on Wednesday 31st December 2008, in Seymour Street Methodist Church, Lisburn, the President of the Methodist Church in Ireland referred to me as my BB Captain, which would infer that each one of us are indeed the Presidents BB Officers and Helpers. On this day in particular, when we look back at the year which is drawing to a close and look forward to the new year which lies before us may each of us remember that we do not simply serve the President of the Methodist Church in Ireland but that we in fact serve a much higher power - the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
On this, the last day of 2008, I would like to thank each one of you for your loyal support, dedication and continued assistance in the running of the 1st Carrickfergus Company of the Boys Brigade, and wish you a very happy, peaceful and prosperous 2009.
Stephen Lindsay
